Renowned Argentine artist Aldo Sessa spent months traveling around Argentina to capture the iconic symbol of the gaucho, embodying the romantic ideal of freedom and unspoiled landscapes, with his camera. Sessa's dedication and commitment to preserving the Argentine tradition is evident in the 50,000 images he captured of the expert nomadic horsemen at all instances of their rustic daily life. These photographs fulfill a promise made to Juan José Güiraldes, the legendary Argentine writer, aviator, and founding president of the Argentine Gaucho Confederation to eternalize the gaucho spirit. This spectacular volume features sweeping vistas, fascinating details of traditional gaucho clothing and equipment, and compelling portraits of young and old men and their loyal equine companions.
